About 18 years ago I got a Bath and Body Works scent from their "temptations" line called Crazy Caramel Popcorn. It started off with a loud salty/sweet buttery scent, but the dry down was a soft buttery popcorn, slightly nutty, with a sweet/rich caramel that lingered. It leaned more sweet than salty/buttery... It was very photorealistic caramel corn - not synthetic. (I tried the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut dupe on Dua for Sol De Janiero, but I don't get the sweetness I'm looking for... it leans heavily towards salty butter, but that and the dupe come closest to the scent I'm describing.)
Another favorite that I haven't found a good dupe for is their Pineapple Coconut from around 2008. It had a sweet bright pineapple opening with a creamy toasted coconut dry down, but you could still smell the sweetness and tartness of the pineapple peeking through til the end. It wasn't like a Pina Colada scent and didn't smell like tanning lotion - I can't describe it well enough to give it justice. I know BBW currently has a Coconut Pineapple scent, but it leans synthetic/waxy candle and has zero depth. :( The Pineapple Coconut was the perfect gourmand summer fragrance and the Crazy Caramel Corn was the perfect fall/winter scent (aside from pumpkin spice scents.) Both had excellent projection, but poor longevity. I would stock up on both if you were able to create them! I'm new here, but obsessed and have already bought several Dua fragrances for me, husband, and daughter.
Other foodie scent ideas: Gingerbread Cookies, Caramel Apple Cider Latte, Peach Coconut Cream Pie, Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies, Strawberry Crunch Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Butterscotch/Graham Cracker mix, Strawberry Malted Milk with Graham Cracker, Banana Coconut Cream Pie, Graham Cracker whoopie pie with fluffy buttery toffee filling. I'm addicted to dessert scents and can't stop myself from ordering more from Dua each month. 😅
