In 2018, legendary fashion house Tom Ford released a duo of fragrances named Fougere d’Ardent and Fougere Platine. Fans of the olfactory genre hurried enthusiastically to their department stores to give them both the proverbial sniff. The most synesthetic of the two releases is Fougere Platine in the way that it takes a valuable metal and translates it into an exemplary perfume. Worthy of imitation it is, and so we wasted no time in crafting our own brew that we have decided to call Legendary. Like the fern that gives the genre its name, this exquisite fougere bears a green overture that is established with clary sage and armoise oil. Bearing the scientific and more familiar name artemisia, armoise injects the blend with its verdantly dark and mysterious character while olibanum circumvents the blend in the omnipresent manner of the smoke that it would yield. The allure of the orient is present as the interplay between the cedarwood and the incense create a meditative and bewitching aroma. A bed of tobacco leaf bonds the layers of the blend into an uncommonly refined and unforgettable fragrance experience unlike one you’ve smelled before. We try not to pick favorites, but Legendary is deserving of our attention.
