From my understanding, 1992 Purple Night was inspired by a performance given by the late artist Prince at a secret venue in ‘92. I’m a HUGE Prince fanatic, so I’d always been interested in this scent and was excited that Dua decided to recreate it for us. This opening is VERY reminiscent of Fracas Or Versace Blonde, with a syrupy , almost grapey bubblegum tuberose. 15 minutes of wear on the skin and suddenly the warmth of the tobacco and suede starts to break through though they remain fairly subdued. Perhaps the tobacco accord will deepen with some macerating. It’s an interesting juxtaposition of playful & cheeky and carnal/seductive. VERY rock n’ roll. VERY Prince. This has been on my skin for an hour and I’m not picking up on the patchouli…maybe just a subtle earthiness..🤷♀️ This feels extremely high quality and beautifully blended. Thirty minutes after spraying this on I was deep in my closet frantically searching for my vintage, well worn in leather moto jacket I haven’t seen in a hot minute. Coincidence? I think not. This is not a fragrance you wear when lounging around in leisure wear. 😆 This one requires a leather jacket, moto boots and (in my case) a vampire red lipstick. This beauty could surely be cloying and headache inducing if overdone , but three sprays is my sweet spot. My scent bubble is INTOXICATING at the moment. Extremely pleased I picked this one up.
