DUA DESIGNER LINE
The aromatic Cozy Tale Of Winter is narrated by the storytellers of nature. The fragrant Pines and Spruces draw you deeper into their wooded maze as you breathe in, like ancient guards. The spice of Cardamom entwines mystery and coziness, evoking pleasant fireside chats. Like a calm winter's eve, Lavender, the delicate poet of the woodland, crafts a cool, quiet picture on the canvas of your senses. The scent envelops you like a warm embrace from a long-time friend, whispering secrets amid the trees. It tells the story of your embrace with winter. Cozy Tale Of Winter transports the reader to a magical woodland where a classic winter story is told through the aroma of the forest.

DUA is my new obsession. Usually affordable perfumes are alcohol based and smell so cheap, but not with DUA. I highly recommend this scent it smells like camping in the winter, the pine needles and spices are beautifully blended.
DUA Cozy Tale of Winter Review
I have always been attracted to coniferous scents. Growing up in the woods of New England holds dear memories for me. The snappy, camphorous, and balsamic scent of pines, firs, and others just make me happy. They are an escape from reality, a melody of reflection during chaos, and a reminder of how beautiful nature truly is.
I scouted the site for such fragrances, and I found two. One of which was Cozy Tale of Winter. Being the weirdo that I am, I love the cold and winter. There is just something magical about being cold on the outside and being under a warm blanket or coat. I am a freak but blame it on my New England roots. It’s in my blood.
Cozy Tale starts out with a realistic pine note akin to freshly snapped needles with a lingering darkness from spruce. It’s almost fruity in a way, while retaining a camphoric woodiness. This stage sets up a story of a journey into the wild backwoods, snowflakes dancing and clinging to your beanie, while the frosty snow crunches beneath your feet.
The lavender surprised me. It’s much sweeter than I expected. It feels like a sugar crusted candy almost, which is normally a hallmark of violet, and I wouldn’t be shocked if this scent contained violet as well. It could also be an ambery accord portraying this as well. Either way, it feels cool, which adds to the atmospheric picture a winter forest,
At the end of the journey, you find yourself back at your cabin built from warm cedar. The warmth of the hearth flickers in your heart as your cheeks go numb from the blustery winter winds. As you enter the humble abode, cozy cardamom beckons you to embrace its cozy hug in a hot cup of tea. A warming sensation that kindles your soul as you watch the blizzard fall from the darkened sky.
Cozy Tale of Winter is a bit different than I expected, but warm, amiable, and inviting, nonetheless. The almost fruity aspect from the pine and spruce dances with the sweetness of lavender to keep it from delving too far into a darker territory. This prevents it from smelling like a resinous-woody scent that is far too often seen within the conifer genre.
I’d say, if you want an exact picture of a forest, then this isn’t the scent for you. However, if you want the impression of a Christmas wonderland with a little Elven magic thrown in, then this might be your jam.
It has shades of Dasein Winter Nights in it, which is one of my favorite scents, so I do enjoy Cozy Tale, but it’s much sweeter and not as coniferous as Winter Nights. Either way, it’s a good scent and I enjoy it, but I am a bit jealous that the new label looks better. Either way, rock it with your best lumberjack look and you’re good to go.
Also, this bottle was macerated for a month before I reviewed it.
This is a surprisingly great perfume. I normally don't like lavender but its very light. The pine and cardamom notes are gorgeous together. This lasts for ages on me. Its not really a freshie but its not a gourmand either. Its an herbal, slightly sweet wintery fragrance. Very nice.
If you like the vision of a childhood Christmas, with Christmas trees and all the Christmas smells..this is that all in 1 bottle. Definitely for cooler months! I can see myself wearing this with a big sweater, a fuzzy scarf, hot chocolate, watching it snow outside. I like it.
Finally I found the pine fragrance of my dreams! Im a feminine woman but I go crazy for pine scented things and my boyfriend loves it too. Ive been on the hunt for a unisex fragrance that I could wear myself featuring a realistic pine note, and then layer with sweet or fresh perfumes. This is beautiful on its own but also layered. It smells like a pine forest in the winter when the woods has a frozen deeper scent to it. Smelling it straight from the bottle you might think it smells like a Christmas candle, but it must be worn on clothes or skin to truly open up into the exquisite fragrance that it is! Not candle-like when it warms up on skin at all, so don't be fooled. I caught this at the end of winter and I cant wait to wear it next winter too!
Cardamom with a side of other stuff
I wore this on an icy PNW mountain hike this weekend, and after several hours of trudging along someone passing me by complimented the perfume. I was surprised he could smell it, I couldn't! Especially in the cold air.
Lesson learned: this is a one-spray worker. The cardamom is by far the heaviest note here (idk maybe it'll calm down over a few months? Fingers crossed it softens up dramatically like some of my other Duas), followed by lavender, with the other notes coming in as a soft wintery base but not really discernible. It's nice, but this frag has single-handedly oversaturated me for cardamom scents. More "hanging out by a cozy Christmas fire in a wooden cabin drinking spiced cider while snow gently falls outside" than "out in the winter woods." A bit sharp for me to categorize it as "cozy," but not cold enough to evoke winter forests. It sits in some third, secret place.
But it's nice and worth having, if you like winter vibes or live in a cold climate with evergreens. Or really really really really really like cardamom.
A lovely musky pine and lavender scent, it does smell very similar to Dasein Winter BUT the Dua is more musky/cologne like. I do prefer the Dasein Winter because it smells more neroli/pine forward and like a winter forest but the Dua is still good just more cloying musk which I'd prefer it not to be
So Cozy!
I love this one! It’s super cozy and I love a little spray before bed because it’s so calming. Not sure why Dua would say this is an original though. It is not. It is a copy of Winter by Dasein. They should not take credit as this being an original. Anyway, such a perfect scent for cold nights.
Perfection
This is Christmas in a bottle. The perfect cold weather winter scent. The pine and spruce with cardamom is simple but in the most fantastic amounts. The holiday woodiness is wrapped in a gentle blanket of lavender. It's like a hug from Santa or Mother Nature.
Okay, I usually don’t post reviews. But… this “Cozy Tale of Winter” is special. It was just what I was looking for during this time of year. Reminds me of the holidays. It will definitely be my winter time go to fragrance. Can’t wait to pick up another bottle!!!
Just Add Snow!
This is winter in all of its glory, minus the snow (thank you for that!). The initial few minutes carry an incense vibe, but then the pine/spruce woods kick in to take it beyond and above. I actually like the incense note, but love how the woodsy notes dominate. To me, the cardamom and lavender are background whispers that keep the woods balanced. This is poetry in spray!
Christmas and winter in a bottle. Loving this scent for the holiday season. Not sure on the longevity yet but seems to project well. Pick up a bottle for the holidays. You'll smell the part for sure.
This is christmas in a bottle!! Just imagine the green scented candles of pines or the glade pine and cedar but in a perfume form super great for 24,25 or 31 of december events!!
Pretty great
So, this is a clone of Winter by Daesin. Same notes, and smells exactly the same. Not sure why Dua wouldn’t mention that. Other than that, it’s absolutely wonderful. Smells like a balsam fir candle. Longevity is great as expected. Will be a favorite of mine this winter! Also, the new atomizers are fantastic!
Universal Excellence
This one is incredible. Back up worthy. I don't know how to describe this one but to call it a green masterpiece. It has this really crisp and sweet opening. It's the kind of smell you can't spray without everyone in the room asking what the amazing smell is. 5/5 a 10.
Cool Weather Winner
Great for the cooler weather - outdoorsy pine/forest scent that's balanced beautifully with the lavender.
Very versatile - outdoor activities to the office - wearable anywhere imo.
Gonna get lotsa wears in the upcoming months.
Must Have for Coziness and Warmth!
I can't get over how good this one is! It immediately conjures up images of the winter, and the green elements are brought together in such a refined and delicate way. It brings up so many wonderful memories of the winter time, and it always makes me feel cozy. It is currently the fall season, but I am wearing in anticipation of the winter. This fragrance reminds me of everything that I love about the winter, and the quality is top notch as well. I can't wait to wear this in the months to come! Well done!
