Brands like Abercrombie & Fitch have released what are widely regarded as “mall scents,” and while some seem to not get the recognition they deserve, other are often praised relentlessly. A sister company to Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, has also released a fragrance many years ago that is only recently starting to get the recognition it deserves. Unfortunately, much of this recognition started to grow post discontinuation, and that’s when we knew that we had to do something about it. After securing a bottle in excellent condition, we began to work our reverse-engineering magic to make the most accurate recreation on the market. Our version is called Dua Jake Cologne, and it contains the magical simplicity of the original. The combination of woods and citrus is both youthful and masculine. This Hollister Jake cologne dupe will accompany you to work and on a date. The easy-going nature of the fragrance is one you should not miss out on, and since our recreation is now available for your sniffing pleasure, there is absolutely no need to spend hundreds of dollars for a bottle of the original. This is a throwback to hollister amazing fragrance uncanny resemblance to the original discontinued product this is an amazing cologne. Now my dislikes are y is it still out of stock u have 1oz bottles they should be on hand as my bottle lasted me maybe a month and a half maybe a little longer but haven’t had my cologne in now going on 3 months maybe more since December I would like this to be restocked so I can smell as great as I was before
Surfer brand Hollister was the thing when I was in high school. Jake was one of my signature scents during those years. I remember going into the mall stores and smelling this fragrance wafting throughout the entire store, and it vividly reminds me of my youth. Sadly, Hollister has left its SoCal ways and adopted a strange streetwear vibe now, so Jake and SoCal were discontinued, along with many others. They reworked their whole line, but some of their new scents do retain a bit of oceanic nostalgia. Jake is going for prices that require you to almost sacrifice a kidney these days, and honestly, it’s just not worth it. The blue bottled one is only vaguely reminiscent of the old brown bottle. The brown bottle is the vintage that I grew up with, but in this case, it doesn’t matter much because it only lasts around 3 hours. However, as a high schooler, I didn’t care. I just loved the smell. Thankfully, Dua has taken up the reins on this scent and made one that is both affordable and long-lasting. Can this scent reclaim my memories of youth? Let’s dive into Southern California and crash some waves while we check out Dua Jake Cologne. I only recently obtained the scent, so it hasn’t aged much yet, but on the initial spray, I was confused. It was a bit sweeter than I remember. It’s a sort of ambery, fresh fruity sweetness from candied citrus zest. After a few days, the opening was still a bit candied, but it started opening with a fresher, more mineral vibe, which is probably due to a musk that is used in the scent. My scent memory recalls the fragrance being more ozonic, which disappointed me at first. Even after a few days, the drydown started showing some of that airy minerality with soft tones of cedar that made the scent iconic, at least to me. I am pretty sure the scent has violet in it, and it’s not listed as a note. Either that, or it’s a lavender interacting with other accords to give it a breezy, aquatic feeling. Dua’s Jake performs MUCH better than the OG. It lasts around 7-8 hours on skin and days on clothes. It’s not even close for the performance. The scent trail is also quite potent, showing a moderate projection range, which is a huge improvement over the almost instant skin scent of the Hollister.

Really taken back by this fragrance as I always loved both The OG Jake and also Playboy Malibu but both have been discontinued so decided to try this as that DNA always vibed with my skin chemistry! I have to say DUA nailed this DNA but also beefed it up and smoothed it out a bit making it slightly more classy and less casual. The opening and mid is a dead ringer but what sets this version apart is the drydown as it's more rich and smooth than Jake, as even the OG fell a bit flat in the drydown. Well done and I'll be purchasing a backup bottle ! Also received a compliment at the gas station 4 hours after applying this so that's a big plus as well

This smells like the original but amped up. Much better performance. Citrus, woods, and aquatic notes. I get a touch of melon in here. It gets me compliments and smells perfect for summer. I wish they would do their version of Hollister So Cal Cologne, because that’s the one hollister stores used to smell like, but the original bottles are priced high and the modern bottles they’re selling don’t have any staying power. DUA please take what you did with Hollister Jake and do it to Hollister So Cal!
I was searching all over for not just a clone of Jake from Hollister, but a really really close match to the original scent. And you guys have absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one! The price is perfect for what you get and the scent is SPOT. ON. And performs even better as well! PLEASE keep this one in stock at all times because this is my signature scent and I want to keep coming back for this one without having to worry about it being discontinued. Was very excited to get this cologne for my boyfriend who always wears the Hollister Jake cologne. Sprayed it once, and I see a similarity, but it’s far from a dupe according to my nose. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Very sad that it wasn’t like the other reviews are saying.
Smells amazing, smells just like OG Jake. Stuff is strong so only 1-2 sprays will do. Came in like 7 days as well!
Last Christmas I bought this since Hollister Jake Quit selling theirs. I paid 280 dollars for one of the last bottles and haven't even opened it. I have half a bottle of DUA Jake left and ready for it to be in stock again so I can get 3 more bottles. I like this over the original and don't want to go back. Please restock asap.

Jake has always been one of my favorite colognes. Always get compliments when wearing it. I was upset when I could no longer find it in their stores. That's when I found this. A perfect match, and it lasts longer too! Will def be buying again!

It reminds me of the old brown bottle formula. Where the wood notes are a bit more grounded and prominent than the blue bottle brand. In short, this inspiration captures exactly what it pays homage to. I will....WILL be buying this again.
If you always wished hollister cologne lasted longer this is the truth. It smells pound for pound identical to Jake. No difference. Lasts about 3-4 hours per spray. Better than original.

I was actually really surprised here. This smells just like Jake but with a little kick. Maybe a little bit more subtle than some duas but I was smelling this stuff 6 to 8 hours after application.
Smells like the mall The mall by me didn't have an Abercrombie. It had a hollister and jake was the scent that filled the mall. I bought a real bottle and was very disappointed in the performance. Under an hour of project and 3 hours max on skin. I was expecting something at least in the ballpark by DUA. But no, this thing is spot on. More so than any other dupe I've bought here. Like 100% but with great performance compared to the original.

Amazing Blue Aquatic Throwback I'm a man of the age where these "mall scents" were all the rage in high school. That era brought us some true gems, like Fierce from A&F. This one is no exception! I had a bottle of this back in the day (the original brown bottle) and remembered really liking it. After trying to buy this again from Hollister for $50, I found that the new formulation (the blue bottle) had completely neutered this scent. At first, I had some hope because it smelled pretty much as I remembered. I was so sad to find out that it only lasted maybe an hour or two before fading to a skin scent. Enter Dua Jake Cologne! This is everything from the original formulation but with that Dua power we know and love. I get anywhere from 6-8 hours in warm weather with this one. I'm so surprised this is not as popular as #fierce with a dozen or my hybrids. Mahsam, I really think this would blend well with things like #fierce, Tiger, Bleu de Dua, and any number of freshies.
