DUA has done it again! Spiced Vanilla Extrait 21 is 98% the same smelling scent as the OG. After ten minutes on my skin I cannot smell the difference. I have done many side by sides to determine this. DUA’s version lasts longer on my skin! Best part is I don’t have to spend $700 to smell this fabulous. I am not a huge fan of vanilla fragrances but was always curious and eager to try this hoping that I can actually like and wear it. I didn’t know what the original smelled like so I went to California to actually try it in person and It was extremely close like around 90%. I would describe it as a warm creamy spicy vanilla but not overpowering. Projection is really good and I get a lot of compliments every time I wear it. Just goes to show how good this perfume really is and it lasts around 8 to 10 hours on the skin. This was one of the best blind buy purchases I ever made and I would highly recommend if you are a fan of this kind of fragrance.

I have the Original, and I have tried ALL other attempts at recreating it, and nothing-NOTHING- comes closer to the inspiration than Spiced Vanilla Extrait 21. I have the OG and this dupe, and it’s 98% similar. Majority of people have never even smelled the OG, so they would never know the difference. It smells even better as it dries down. Love it. Although, I will say the OG/this has never gotten me a compliment in comparison to many other less expensive perfumes. 🤷🏼♀️ To each their own.

Spiced vanilla extrait 21 is a beautiful vanilla scent with just a touch of spice just like it says. Smells warm and cozy. Reminds me just a little of Liquid Brun just more toned down. Blind buy worthy. 🔥💯

I have been wearing this DUA dupe for a couple of weeks now, without ever smelling the original. Well… I went to Neiman Marcus and they just got in the OG… I smelled it and was like… that’s Spiced Vanilla Extrait 21! They are exactly the same to my nose! I recently purchased a decant of the original Vanilla Planifolia, just so that I could compare it so its inspirations. I applied the Guerlain in one wrist and the Dua in another. I truly could not tell the difference, as much as I tried. As you can see, I’ve already dented it. It is as beautiful as the original. An airy, mature, sophisticated vanilla with hints of spices. It is not overtly spicy of resinous, but smooth. Dare I say, it almost possesses a floral character, as the smell reminds me of some of my orchids, which would make sense since this is a perfume based around a raw ingredient that comes from an orchid plant. If you’re looking for an incredible, non-gourmand, mature and elegant vanilla scent, look no further. Do you want a spot on dupe of the original? You got it here!

Spiced Vanilla Extrait 21 DUA’s take on Vanille Planifolia 21 I have always enjoyed vanilla scents. However, I often viewed them as a bit plain. I’ve tried hundreds of variations of the little aphrodisiac bean, and there are some that I love, but I assumed there was nothing new under the sun. Alexandra suggested that I try this one. In my mind, I was battling with it. How could a vanilla impress me? Since it was inspired by one of my favorite houses, I decided to take her up on it and give it a run. My dearly departed mother used to love coffee creamer, but she hated vanilla. She would lambast about it being “plain”. She thought it just tasted like milk, so I guess part of that rubbed off on me, since we didn’t have such products in the house growing up. I knew it wasn’t plain, but I guess I inherited it in the olfactory form over the taste of it. When I first received it, I was hesitant to even try it, but I did. It was a bit muddy at that point, but Alexandra assured me that it would change over the next month. So I cast my patience into the abyss and let it rest. I must say…after that time period, I found out that Alexandra was right…about both things… This spicy concoction tickles my nose on the first spray, then it quickly subsides. A marriage of spicy cardamom meets your nose with a warming embrace. The vanilla is immediately identifiable as the Guerlinade. If you are not familiar with it, it’s the Parisian house’s iconic vanilla accord that they have used since the early 1900s. It consists of iris, vanilla, rose, jasmine, and a few other things. It starts out a bit rich, resinous, and creamy, yet it develops into something soft and powdery. The fact that I can identify it outside of the storied house’s offerings is a testament as to how well DUA’s take is done. It does feel a bit modernized from the traditional form that was used in Jicky. This is why some people have said it’s soapy. It’s due to the iris, rose, and jasmine used within the accord, but it doesn’t read that way to me. It feels chic, like old world money in modern times. That Guerlinade vanilla permeates the entire scent, warmed by torched spices and a balsamic opoponax, giving it a rich, cozy, and elegant aura. The opoponax is also ever so slightly smoked, like an incense offering being lit in the distance while its sacred plumes of spiritual smoke gently grace your senses. Spiced Vanilla Extrait 21 made me a believer. Vanilla scents can still be good. They can still be innovative without incorporating strange accords. They don’t have to be sticky gourmands to be enchanting. The proof is in the pudding, or lack thereof (since it’s not a gourmand). This is a vanilla that even my mother would love. Even I, as a man, love it as well. It’s perfectly suited for anyone that wants to wear it. However, if you are expecting a gourmand with this one, it’s not going to live up to it. It smells of class, intellect, and wealth. However, it's suitable for both formal and casual wear. It also lasts forever. I literally have to wash it off the next day, even on my skin. It’s truly that potent. I am certainly not complaining one bit as it can cut through frigid winter air and radiate an aura of sophistication and seduction. I am simply in love with this scent. I haven’t tried to compare the original to it, but the DUA version is perfect as it is, so I don’t need to even seek it out. Now, don’t go buying it out from my review. I need a backup bottle, and my roommate wants one as well. I haven’t had a scent garner this much attention in a while, that even my roommate, who isn’t into perfume at all, wants one. That should speak volumes by itself. It’s simply enchanting.

I’m speechless. So let me tell you, it must have been about a year from now that I first smelled the original from Guerlain. I’ve never fell in love with a perfume like this before. EVERYTIME I got a chance, I went to the Guerlain corner at Galeries Lafayette and perfumed myself with it. I’ve been obsessed with this fragrance and tried to find a similar one on every occasion I had (because the OG is too expensive). So when I read a review that praised Spiced Vanilla from Dua, I took my chance. And believe me : it’s the exact same smell, I’m speechless. It’s super lasting as well, you can tell it’s a extract. I’m so so so happy I found this. I was staring to lose hope. The shipping fees were pricy to make it come to France but it’s so worth it. I’m super happy. It’s a shame that a 50ml bottle doesn’t exist. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Will order again! 🤍
I never smelled the Guerlain version but I sprayed it today and to me it smells like a fragrance more for men. It is spiced and dark vanilla. I sprayed myself and my husband because of my thoughts and our younger son said he smelled really good while they were outside working on a project. My older son said it smelled nice on me as well but it has limited staying power on my skin. Can definitely see where it can be worn by both sexes and so I will share.
It is good, i mean the spice is good , but i can barely smell the vanilla, maybet it is need time to sit a while...

so, this is a beautiful vanilla scent. you really get the spicyness served to you in a gentle way, which i love. you can smell the vanilla & amber in the backround, there, supporting their spice sister’s. :). the drydown is almost a creamy one… the creaminess that you smell is what really brings the scent together, making it gentle, in a loud way. it lasts & lasts, so when i say gentle— i only mean the gentleness of the spices, which is appropriate & enhances the fragrance extremely well. it is a sophisticated scent, a sexy scent… she makes sure she is noticed, though, no matter the occasion— in such a good way. a way that you’ll have people sniffing your bubble & asking where you got that magic in a bottle. i don’t think this a purchase that you will/can regret.
I can see why this is always sold out it’s an absolute banger ! I want to let it sit for a while to see if it gets any darker but so far so good !

Um omg! I have a bottle of the original Guerlain Planifolia 21 and I use it sparingly due to the breathtaking price tag. I was worried about it running out. It’s truly a masterpiece. One of the most beautiful vanilla scents. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations because I thought it would be too complex to re-create. Upon for sniff, I couldn’t believe my nose. This is basically identical. I’m not sure how long it lasts, but at this price point, you can reapply all day long. It’s absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend!!

I had tried a sample of the genuine Guerlain Vanille Planifolia. So I looked it up and was in sticker shock. I couldn't justify $630 for a 1oz bottle of perfume.
