Customer video review of The Ruler

I remember buying the original in the 80s as a gift for my Dad when I was a kid. I just love it, as I do all the mossy classics… as you can see here - Azzaro, VCA’s Tsar and YSL’s Rive Gauche. It’s getting better and better as it macerates. Don’t be put off by the initial hit if “B.O.” - it settle quick into the sexiest, masc cologne.

Work of art This is a masterpiece a true work of art to be honest I have never smelled the original not that I can remember or if my dad or grandfather or any one of that sort whore it when growing up it was launched the year I was born but I do remember seeing it in stores as I was a kid and all I have to say is this is one of the best absolutely gorgeous sooo masculine yet fresh and the sillage and longevity are out of this world I sprayed it on the first time the other night really didn't care for the initial spray scent but about 15 minutes later I went outside in the cold weather and standing on the deck this amazing beautiful scent just hit my nose and I was amazed definitely recommend a true work of art

an enveloping fragrance.....it takes only a sniff.....and THE RULES brings you back in the 80's.........THE RULES is a classic.....and price-quality ratio unbeatable........nice looking package........and company with nice courtesy........do not let get away this original formula....a must have it in the collection..........

Classic Masculine, spicy, and long-lasting. The anise sets it apart from other classic fougeres. Please keep bringing back long-lost classics. Drakkar Noir and Kouros maybe? Paco Rabanne Pour Homme?

Before Bourdon's Joop! Homme there was Azzaro Pour Homme. Damn. I love this stuff. It has something real beautifully perfect with it. I struggled with it. Put it up and came back to. In the meantime I revisited an old love and a little known fragrance called Joop! Homme by Joop!(DUA's The Shit). Hear me out. Pierre Bourdon, I believe, took Azzaro Pour Homme and took out all the dark barbershop notes and made Joop!. Azzaro's is such a wonderful fragrance I can't blame him(Almairac is wrongfully created on Fragrantica for creating Joop! Homme; he created Joop! Femme.) And who developed Azzaro Pour Homme Intense? Would you believe.... Pierre Bourdon! Joop! was the one of the best sellers in the world during the 90's. And it really is a wonderful fragrance and very long lasting. But Bourdon was certainly intertwined with Azzaro. In fact I do believe I love Azzaro Pour Homme better than Joop!. I will put them together at some time, and travel back in time. And DUA's version is even stronger than Azzaro's. I know its hard to believe. You can wipe out a whole room with 3 sprays of the original. I forgot that and put 4 sprays of this on me, and nearly passed out. You could take out a whole city with 5 or 6 sprays. This takes beast to a new level. I am sure you could make this one bottle last you 10 years. You really only need 1 spray, or maybe just a half spray. Haha. I know. More than you wanted to know. I just couldn't help myself.

Capturing a classic Dua has achieved their aim and brought back the lost oakmoss to the king of fougeres. Azzaro Pour Homme is in my top five favorite fragrances. I have smelt the vintage and the new, quite diluted, reformulation. I have to say that Dua has achieved 94-96% match to the original late -seventies beast. I will be picking up a backup bottle of this asap. I would recommend that DUA continue in this vein. Please do vintage inspirations for Oscar Pour Lui, Boss No.1, and Halston Z-14. I thank you for this immeasurable service to fans of great masculine perfumery.
